The Wedding Day

Grace and I had the wonderful privilege to have so many Spiritual Fathers and Mothers speak into our lives about the wedding day. We also had good friends share their experiences with us, so we felt as prepares as one can be. A friend of mine, a much older gentleman, shared his wedding day experience by saying, it is only by God's grace that we can say yes to the vows for our spouse. That he also had no clue, and barely still does today, on the depth of commitment to his wife. I liken it to the first time I made a vow to my Heavenly Father to lay down my life and follow Him...barely had a clue at that moment and still learning what that means, today.

When I stood before Grace and spoke my vows to her, something happened. As we're on our 48th day of marriage, I've been trying to describe, into words, what happened to me as I spoke those vows, promising to love my wife as Christ loves the church.
It was a physical experience. It shot through my body over and over again, like electricity. It was a bit tingly like electricity. I felt like my physical orientation in the chapel had changed somehow. Not out-of-body, but something that overtook me in a way I will never forget. All these sensations leading to this point...that this commitment was deep, very deep.

Here's the lyrics to the song I sang her...also are the lyrics I forgot and the last verse, to which the vase cut short.

(Video Version)

Is You...

There was a time, when i saw you across a crowded room
I did not know your love to laugh
I did not know your love to dance
but today, i do

There was a time, when I sat across from you
We shared out first meal, my heart was pounding
and like a fool I could barely speak
but today, i sing to you

All I want is
All I want is
you, my love
All I need is
All I need is
you, my love
climb the highest mountain
swim the deepest sea
I give you my life
so completely

There was a time, when i dared to ask you out
You wrestled with our Father in Heaven,
you sought Him out
you said "yes" and it made me shout!

There was a time, when my heart awoke
to the truth that all i wanted was you and only you
no other will do
not even close
so today I give my all to you

All I want is
All I want is
you, my love
All I need is
All I need is
You, my love
Climb the highest mountain
Swim the deepest sea
I give you my life
So completely

There was a time, as we sat next to the the moon and stars
Heaven came down, like kiss
Wipe away all our scars
All of Heaven, especially your mother
Sing a love song over us...
All of Heaven, especially your mother
sing a love song over us
