Capturing a Moment

Hey Everyone,

The time in Cape town was amazing. It was a marathon of tunes, relationships, practice and more practice. First, with my guitar gear that was accidentally taken, we were able to make a plan to adjust and move forward. Thank you for all the prayers! We were able to record 8 songs!!!! On Wednesday and Thursday evening, the band and I got together to practice the songs for about 8 hours total. It was the first time that we all played together, which took a bit of time to gel, but everyone was so optimistic, it made all the difference. Thank you Bhuto and Johan.

Next we hit the studio and with the producing talents of Jeff, we were able to hit the mark! We started recording on Friday evening which rolled into all day, Saturday. We were in the studio for 16 hours on Saturday...was a long day. But the great thing was, though we did it with little rest and food, the day flew by so quickly. Definitely a good sign of doing something I love to do!

Unfortunately we weren't able to lay down the electric guitar tracks, so in a couple of weeks, I'll have to go back to the Media Village studios and get them done. So thank you for all your prayers, emails and thoughts! One of my most favorite moments was when we were practicing and Bhuto shared some creative ideas and we added a bridge to one of the songs. Here are the lyrics....

Just a Glimpse

Just a glimpse, just a touch of this dream called perfect love
In my weakness, you say
That I'll find strength, so on my knees I pray

For something real, something true
No more forms or lies
Just me and you
For something real, something true
I won't run away, I'll wait right here
For you

Just a kiss, just once more
Lover I'm still hurting, I need grace some more
And my past seems, so dark and grey
Take my hand, hold me close
This is what I pray

For something real, something true
No more forms or lies
Just me and you
For something real, something true
I won't run away, I'll wait right here
For you

[This is what Bhuto came up with]
There is no one else but you
Yeah you
only you
And I won't turn my back, alright?
To you
Tonight
